June is Pride Month. It’s also the season of block parties, festivals, outdoor dining, public transit rides, and long days spent sharing space with one another.
As we head into a month of celebration and community, it’s worth asking: do you know what to do when you witness harassment?
This month, we’re offering free training to help you build the skills to safely support others. Join us today for Bystander Intervention to Support LGBTQIA+ Communities and learn practical ways to show up when it matters. Sign up at: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_K1M91rNySq-xMYC1a62NRA

We’re honored to be named a 2026 RALIANCE Impact Grant recipient.
With this support, Right To Be will partner with Samuel Merritt University on a first-of-its-kind research study exploring how bystander intervention can help prevent sexual violence at scale.
Together, we’ll engage World Cup attendees across 11 host cities, helping build safer public spaces for an estimated 5 million people through research, education, and community-based prevention strategies.
Preventing violence starts long before harm occurs. It starts with everyday people having the tools, confidence, and support to safely intervene, support one another, and shift the culture that allows harassment and violence to persist.
We’re grateful to RALIANCE for investing in prevention work that centers community care, safety, and collective action.
RALIANCE Awards $300,000 in Grants for Projects to End Sexual Harassment, Misconduct and Abuse We're awarding $300,000 in grants to six organizations across the US dedicated to supporting survivors and preventing sexual violence.

Nearly 29,000 people at Ottawa Race Weekend took part in conversations about bystander intervention through StandUP.
That’s 28,900 people being reminded that we all have a role to play in creating safer public spaces. That looking out for one another matters. That small actions can make a real difference.
We’re grateful to Ottawa Race Weekend for making space for this work and for recognizing how important these conversations are in moments where community comes together at scale.
And a huge shoutout to our trainer, Julie, for leading 5 presentations throughout the weekend and helping bring this work to thousands of people.
This is what culture change looks like.

No one should fear for their safety while gathering in spaces of worship and community.
We are grieving the horrific attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego and mourning alongside the victims’ families, the Muslim community in San Diego, and everyone impacted by this violence.
This attack comes at a time of rising anti-Muslim, anti-Arab, and anti-immigrant rhetoric. We know that when hate and harassment are normalized, the harm does not stay online or in conversation. It escalates.
In moments like this, many people are asking what they can do to support one another and help keep their communities safer.
We’re offering a series of free virtual trainings for anyone looking for tools to respond to harm, interrupt hateful behavior, and care for themselves and others in this moment:
• Active Shooter Training: A Trauma-Informed Approach — Today, May 20 at 7 PM ET- Register here: https://righttobe.org/events/active-shooter-training-a-trauma-informed-approach-12/
• Targeted Violence Prevention: A Community-Centered Approach — May 26 at 3 PM ET- Register here: https://righttobe.org/events/targeted-violence-prevention-a-community-centered-approach-7/
• Resilience: This Moment and Beyond — May 29 at 12 PM ET - Register here: https://righttobe.org/events/resilience-this-moment-and-beyond-23/
• Bystander Intervention to Stop Islamophobic and Xenophobic Harassment — June 3 at 5 PM ET- Register here: https://righttobe.org/events/bystander-intervention-to-stop-islamophobic-and-xenophobic-harassment-14/
We invite anyone looking to build skills to support their community and disrupt hate to join us.
Bystander Intervention to Stop Islamophobic and Xenophobic Harassment WE TURN THE CARE WE HAVE FOR EACH OTHER INTO SIMPLE, CREATIVE, AND EFFECTIVE ACTION
Calling people in is not about avoiding accountability. It’s about creating the possibility for reflection, growth, and connection instead of shame and isolation.
In moments of harm, many of us want to respond in ways that align with our values while still protecting our boundaries and communities. Our Calling People In training explores what that can look like in practice.

Violence fueled by hate does not happen in isolation. It grows in environments where harassment, dehumanization, and fear are normalized and left unchecked.
We are grieving alongside the Muslim community in San Diego and everyone impacted by this horrific attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego.
Everyone deserves to gather, worship, and exist in community without fear of violence or intimidation. We all have a role to play in rejecting hate, interrupting harassment, and building communities rooted in safety, dignity, and belonging.
