For Women's History Month we used our creativity to make clay mountains and mountain climbers to celebrate Junko Tabei, the first woman and the 36th person ever, to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. She lead an all-woman climbing team, survived an avalanche, and showed the world what women climbers can do.

Smashing the Stigma | Brooklyn Public Library 03/05/2026

Join us next month for a special program event; "Smashing the Stigma" on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Jamaica Bay Branch.

https://www.bklynlibrary.org/calendar/smashing-stigma-jamaica-bay-meeting-room-20260414-0600pm

Smashing the Stigma is a program designed to explore and challenge common misconceptions about mental health through art, storytelling, and meaningful conversation.

Inspired by the mission of the Yellow Tulip Project a youth-driven movement dedicated to breaking down the silence and stigma around mental illness this program invites participants to engage with powerful visual narratives, share their own experiences, and build empathy and understanding together.

The goal is not only to see mental health differently, but to talk about it because open dialogue creates connection, reduces isolation, and helps build supportive communities.
