Dimona update ❤️
After the missile strike in Dimona toward the end of March, Meir Panim’s local branch was left with serious damage.
With barely two weeks until Passover, our team knew one thing clearly: the people who depended on us still needed food, support, and care.
So even without a safe branch to work from, the work continued.
Meals were brought in from nearby Be’er Sheva. Pantry boxes and holiday support were distributed. Our van became a working distribution point, helping food and essentials reach elderly people, homebound residents, and families living in poverty.
Now, we have an update.
One building, which housed our Holocaust survivor day center and children’s after-school center, sustained severe structural damage and is still awaiting a government decision on whether it can be repaired or must be demolished and rebuilt.
But the second building, home to our Restaurant-Style soup kitchen, kitchen, pantry packing area, and courtyard, has been approved as safe to return to.
Repairs are still underway, but the kitchen is open again. Pantry boxes are being packed. Hot meals are being served. Volunteers, IDF soldiers, and Rotem employees are helping bring the branch back to life.
Thank you for standing with Dimona and helping Meir Panim continue serving through damage, disruption, and rebuilding.

After last week's heartbreaking news of another IDF soldier dying by su***de, we're reminded just how much support is needed. 😔 💔
When people are living with PTSD and severe trauma, financial hardship becomes part of the story too. Many can't work, struggle to support their families, and end up going into debt just to try to afford the mental health care they need.
We know that a hot meal can't heal trauma, but when basic needs are met, that's when people can focus on healing.
That's why we recently partnered with programs supporting soldiers dealing with trauma and began providing meals for them and their families.
Every meal truly makes a difference in helping prevent the cycle of poverty from starting — or from spiraling further.

Our Dimona branch is still unusable, but the people who depend on us are still there. Last week, another IDF unit came to volunteer alongside our team to pack food, ensuring that no one in Dimona goes without a meal.

8 lessons we didn't learn in a classroom. 💙
Working alongside people facing hunger, poverty, war, and loss teaches you things you can't find in any book. These are the reminders our staff and volunteers carry with them every single day, and honestly, they're ones we all need to hear.
Save this one for when you need it. 🌿
