Our Jewish Clergy Liaison Yidel Lichtenstein and Shomrim had an opportunity to address our third platoon roll call prior to Purim. As we enter the holiday’s second day, we recognize the importance of building those relationships with our religious communities in Bed-Stuy.

A routine car stop - where the occupants were observed drinking alcohol and smoking ma*****na inside of the vehicle - led to an arrest and the seizure of a scale, baggies, and a large amount of ma*****na ready to be packaged for sale.

In a couple of days, we celebrate Dominican Independence Day.

Following complaints of smoke shops unlawfully selling these products to our children, your Quality of Life teams took enforcment action and seized a large amount of cannabis products packaged for sale.

Officers Forbes and Amos stopped a motorist for using a cell phone while driving, and with a keen eye noticed this very convincing imitation pistol inside of a f***y pack the motorist was carrying leading to his arrest.

Deputy Inspector Camilo had a wonderful opportunity to have a conversation with Bed-Stuy residents at Community Board 3’s meeting at Interfaith Hospital. Open dialogue is important and the work cannot be done without each other.

Last night, Field Training Officer Peterson and his partner stopped a vehicle for a simple traffic infraction. They quickly learned that the driver not only had a suspended license but this stolen loaded firearm, as well. This is what we do - day and night. Great arrest!
