Today, we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11th, 2001. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away. And we remember the countless service members who answered the call in the years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and service are not forgotten.

At Companions for Heroes, it is our privilege to stand beside the veterans and first responders who have given so much in service to others.

May we never forget the lives lost.
May we never forget the heroes.
May we never forget September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

Not every hero needs a service dog.
Sometimes, they need a reason to get out of bed.
A reason to go for a walk.
Someone waiting at the door when they come home.
A steady presence on the hard days.
A best friend who asks for nothing more than love. 🐾
Companions for Heroes helps connect veterans and first responders with dogs who can provide life-changing companionship and support.
Because sometimes healing has four paws. ❤️🇺🇸

Not every wound is visible. And no hero should have to face the hard days alone. 🐾

Companions for Heroes supports veterans and first responders by connecting them with dogs that can make a life-changing difference, whether that's a trained service dog providing assistance or a companion dog offering comfort, connection, and unconditional support.

Because sometimes healing comes with four paws, a wagging tail, and a friend who never asks you to explain. ❤️

While many of us look forward to fireworks, tonight can be one of the hardest nights of the year for many veterans, first responders, and their service dogs.

For some, the sound of fireworks can trigger anxiety, hypervigilance, or memories they never asked to carry. A service dog is often the steady presence that provides comfort, grounding, and unwavering support when it's needed most.

As you celebrate today, please remember our four-legged heroes, and pets everywhere. Keep them safely indoors, make sure they're wearing current identification tags (and their microchip information is up to date), and provide a quiet, secure place where they can feel safe.

Have a safe and meaningful Fourth of July. ❤️🤍💙🐾

Happy Father's Day! 🇺🇸❤️
Today, we honor all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who show up every day with strength, love, and dedication.
At Companions for Heroes, we know that some of the strongest fathers are the ones who have also served their communities and our country. Whether you're a veteran, first responder, or simply a dad doing your best to lead your family well, your sacrifices matter and your example leaves a lasting legacy.
Thank you for the lessons you teach, the support you give, and the lives you help shape.
From all of us at Companions for Heroes, we wish you a Happy Father's Day and thank you for all you do.
💙🐾🇺🇸

This is your reminder… C4H doesn’t run on one person 👇
It runs on a whole community.
The people behind the scenes. 📷
People who show up, bring their families, and pour into something bigger than themselves.❤️🐾

If you had 10 minutes to evacuate… would your dog be taken care of?

In response to the Brantley County wildfires, animal food has been delivered and is being placed where it’s needed most through KP Treats LLC
In the middle of so much uncertainty, families are doing everything they can to take care of their dogs, and we’re honored to stand behind the people making that possible!
KP Treats is doing the hard, hands-on work of getting supplies directly to those who need them, and we’re proud to support them!
If you’re able, please consider donating to help them continue this effort:
💰 Venmo:

And if you can’t give right now, sharing this post helps more than you know. 🐾

This is what it looks like when a community shows up. 💙
We’re honored to be partnering with KP Treats LLC to help support dogs and the people caring for them during this incredibly difficult time.

Families are being displaced quickly- and for many, their dogs are coming with them scared, overwhelmed, and needing care.
Together, we’re working to make sure no one has to worry about how they’re going to provide for the dogs depending on them right now!

If you’ve taken in a dog, are fostering, or helping in any way, please reach out... either to KP Treats LLC or us.

And if you can’t help directly, sharing this post could get it to someone who needs it more than you know. 🐾

Did you know it costs thousands of dollars to train just ONE service dog?

At Companions for Heroes, we provide those dogs to heroes completely free of charge.

That only happens because of generous supporters, and people who believe our heroes deserve support long after their uniform comes off.

Whether you give, share, pray, or advocate- you are part of the mission.

Thank you for standing with our heroes!🐾🇺🇸
