Well a quick look around town and it didn’t take long to see sub-standard utility repairs on several streets. Another utility project ( gas line) on N. McKean St. , looks like the excavator operator lost the ability to dig in a reasonably straight line. Job is likely to be unfinished before the utility company can have the street repaved. Unfortunately it was repaved by the city a couple of years ago. I guess Franklin St. , Quarry St. S. McKean, North St. Sections of Chestnut St. and Broad St. aren’t worthy of being paved this year even though they had plenty of money.
That’s what you get from incompetence at city hall.

While you contemplate your water and sewer bill keep in mind that American Water also bought out Aqua, that company previously bought out People’s Natural Gas. All they need now is to buy First Energy and we’re totally screwed.

For the uninformed and disconnected people that love to comment on my page from their position of lack of knowledge in regards to city operations , maybe you should consider learning about government since you either failed Civics class or never had that class.

The largest portion of the annual city budget goes to cover wages, benefits, utilities ( street lighting etc.) , insurance and pensions. I believe those items make up around 70-80 percent of the budget. What’s left goes improvements on infrastructure, new vehicles and equipment.

In the past ( before sale of sewer system) there was very little money to spend on improvements. The debt service tax was used to help fund improvements. Now the interest alone on the sewer money should be more than enough to repair infrastructure and improvements. There is no legitimate reason to cut corners on infrastructure spending. Remove the bricks before paving over them , replace the storm sewers and catch basins before paving. Do it right or wait. Stay on the utility companies every week to keep up their patches and to do their improvements before city paving.

The plan of regular replacement of vehicles was a good thing, I proposed the same thing in 2017 but members of council were against it at the time. Regular replacement keeps maintenance costs and potential liability issues down.

The invested money should eventually lead to a true reduction in property taxes and business taxes. The tax decrease recently given was due to debt being paid and reducing the debt service tax. City council still has not shown an interest in real tax cuts.

As I point out obvious violations ( with facts and photos too) throughout the city and the oblivion that the current mayor and council seem to operate under it’s amazing the number of people that would rather argue with me about the post or politics. That is the reason Butler has deteriorated to where it is today. People who point out problems or try to change them are attacked rather than the problems being addressed.
The first two years of my term in office were pretty good, my council worked with me to accomplish things and address issues. However a change of council members in the third year started division at the table. I didn’t change as a person or mayor from the first two years, but people start to undermine you if you address issues and problems ( even if they were working with you) . I’m still the same person , that’s why some hate me and others love me. I’m never changing to please others in the name of winning elections. I will not be a phony, I will leave that to the current misfits and pretenders at the city council table.

So I’m hearing that the sewer company ( American Water) is going to tear out newly installed asphalt paving in the West Brady St area. If that is true why did Dandoy and company pave the street? Everyone can plainly see there are others (Franklin St. , Quarry St.North St. ) that could have been paved instead.

If this turns out to be what is going to happen I can only say that the gang of misfits at the council table must also be fools.

Dandoy and the table of misfits that he sits at in city hall DO NOT believe they owe answers to questions that they don’t like or questions from people that they don’t like.

That is not transparency, integrity, honesty or open government!! Elected by liberals because conservatives stay home too often in Election Day. Republicans stay home because they tend to do so if they don’t like the candidate and in recent elections the Republican candidate has either been a RINO or liberal. They can’t seem to vote independent, libertarian or otherwise so they end up electing liberal democrats!

It’s time for the voters, especially Republicans, to wake up, the liberals will ruin the city . You stay home this November you will be giving Shapiro another 4 years to finish ruining the state.

Side note, the city had the money to pave more streets this year but chose not to do any more. Coming soon new sidewalks on Main Street paid for with city money from the sale of the sewer system. Private businesses and nonprofits line Main Street, are you in favor of city money disguised in any form being spent on sidewalks??

Hey Dandoy….. how is the e-bike and e-scooter crack down going?? I’ve seen as many scooters on the road and as many e-bikes on the sidewalks as before the big announcement.

Smoke and mirrors from Dandoy and company, the question is what are they smoking?

Well at least fall is coming and the high grass will go away and give way to sidewalks covered in snow and ice. The snow will cover the expired inspection stickers once again and they can LIE and ignore the issue until spring.

I’ve offered to drive the police and or city officials around at my expense to show them where the vehicles are located.

If they can’t spot expired inspections, registrations or e-bike issues we certainly can’t believe they are capable of enforcing crimes code violations .

They have not even followed up on the cars that were cited for being on the street during street sweeping. Faded parking tickets still on the windshield and vehicles still parked in the same spot.

They’re probably studying up on X and Y chromosomes to solve the mystery of the definition of a woman.

Question for Mayor Bob Dandoy , what is the definition of a woman ? You seem to be playing a game of pretend on the matter. No wonder you don’t take phone calls or return most emails to city residents. Can you define public safety and infrastructure? Probably not or you would pay more attention to it rather than play pretend and take private property for the land bank. Which set of your cronies friends or relatives are you going to see gets the property?

How is he not aware of surveillance cameras placed in the city? Who authorized them ?
Apparently he doesn’t care or he’s being distracted by playing pretend along with the city council in regards to the identity of those at the council table. Chromosomes don’t lie ! I see it as an integrity issue with everyone at the table.

On another note he recently said that the condemned building on Main Street was going to down by a certain date. Since then the story has changed again, with no definite time. Again his lack of integrity on display.

With the recent outrage over graffiti, and the outrage is justified, I just want to point out the decline of the city is caused by individual problems going unaddressed and leading to the cumulative decline. Abandoned vehicles, high grass and weeds, yards and porches filled with junk. It creates an environment that says city government is inept and doesn’t have the ability to provide public safety and maintain infrastructure. This appearance invites further issues and fosters the drug issue by showing weakness.

Don’t worry though, I believe I saw the mayor is working on “ affordable housing “. Just imagine more low income section 8 . And the land bank taking properties and rewarding cronies and the select few with ownership. Keep bringing in the non taxed nonprofits to Main Street. Erode the tax base further and expect a thriving city .
