Success! Another running to raise awareness in the books.
Not only did I get an another personal best with almost 3 minutes off time from last year but they added two hills at the end to test the runner but also Faith Stoughton and I handed out Human Trafficking awareness informational flyers as well as tip line cards to help
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity “-Seneca I’ve trained hard for the last seven months but also when I was in the hurt locker (not the horrible movie) today my legs wanted to seize at mile 10. I dug deep in myself not by just self determination but I muttered to myself a couple things one of them , the main thing was the victims out there . That’s why I run. They go through worse than I can go through in two hours and change. And like the man says “it ain’t about how hard you hit but how hard you get hit and keep moving forward .. how much you can take and keep moving forward” like after I came back from the heart attack to help support T.A.P at the Pittsburgh Half.
I’m not an a fan of running but I’m a fan of this mission to support our partners and the people they work to help.
Tier III may have changed its initial mission but we started with safety and we continue to keep our values. That’s another reason that we also are working to monetary wise with short sale fundraiser to help The Asservo Project
Three years and counting with races that motivation hasn’t dwindled . It makes the fire bigger.
So we are going to keep running one half marathon, one ten k , one five k at a time as long as I’m able to keep the old ticker healthy.
