Catskills Fall Foliage is still going strong. Lots of gorgeousness, lots of green still waiting to turn, especially down low. This weekend’s weather could change things, however, so get here soon.

🍁 Catskills Fall Foliage Week 4: Oct 5-11

🍁 This summer, we had some terrific rainstorms in The Catskills but, overall, precipitation was patchy, with long periods of dry weather between the dramatic downpours. This stresses the trees. I checked online and aggregate precipitation over the summer was not fantastic. However, this year’s fall foliage is already much more vibrant than the last few years in the Catskills. We had a legit drought in 2024, for example, and the subsequent fall foliage was quite dull in comparison to what’s happening right now.

🍁 FOLIAGE REPORT 9/25/26

Fall color is underway in the Adirondacks, but here in the Catskills we’re still just getting started.

Expect things to pick up over the next week, with the best color likely arriving over the following two weeks. As always, weather can speed things up, slow things down, or make fools of us all.

I’ll be posting regular updates as the season develops.
