🛰️ Satellite Communication in Action!
Airmen from the 130th Airlift Wing recently joined forces to test and refine operations in a remote environment under the Remote Integrated C-130J Omnidomain Operations Program (RICO-OP).
To meet mission demands, they configured satellite systems to establish communication with home station from an austere location — using minimal equipment.
💡 This exercise brought together Airmen from various career fields, working as one team to strengthen capabilities and prepare for future challenges.

🌴 Pacific Plane Wrecks 🌴
Scattered across the Pacific islands are the abandoned wrecks of WWII aircraft.
Hidden in jungles, resting on beaches, or lying silent in the mountains—these planes remain as powerful reminders of a time when the skies were a battlefield and every mission was a fight for survival.
✈️ They are not just wrecks of airplanes, but lasting memorials to the brave aircrews who flew them in the name of freedom.

🇺🇸 On This Day in U.S. Air Force History – August 28, 1972 🇺🇸
On this day, Richard Steve Ritchie became the first U.S. Air Force ace of the Vietnam War.
Flying the legendary F-4 Phantom, he earned his fifth aerial victory and was later awarded the Air Force Cross for extraordinary heroism.
His achievement represents more than one pilot — it reflects:
✔️ The discipline forged in Basic Military Training
✔️ The Crew Chiefs and maintainers who kept jets mission-ready
✔️ The Strategic Air Command era of constant readiness
✔️ The joint strength of Airmen and Sailors who stood watch
From Lackland to the flight line, this is Air Force heritage at its finest.
A warrior. A professional. An American Airman. 🇺🇸
During the height of the Cold War, America’s strength rested not on one branch alone — but on the unwavering commitment of both the United States Air Force and United States Navy.
The legendary SAC “Looking Glass” aircraft served as the airborne command post for Strategic Air Command, standing watch 24/7 to ensure our nation’s nuclear deterrence remained unbroken.
While Airmen commanded the skies, our Navy brothers and sisters maintained constant vigilance across the world’s oceans — submarines beneath the waves and carrier groups forward deployed — forming the sea-based leg of the nuclear triad.
Together, Air Force and Navy personnel formed an unbreakable shield of deterrence that preserved peace through strength.
Today, as the historic Looking Glass aircraft prepares for museum preservation, we honor all USAF and Navy Veterans who stood the watch — in the air, at sea, and around the globe.
Your service ensured freedom endured.

No matter the terrain. No matter the distance.
America’s Airmen continue to prove that when duty calls, communication never fails.
Airmen from the 130th Airlift Wing recently operated in a remote, austere environment under the Remote Integrated C-130J Omnidomain Operations Program (RICO-OP). With minimal equipment and maximum expertise, they established secure satellite communication back to home station — ensuring the mission stayed connected.
This is what readiness looks like.
For our Air Force and Navy veterans alike, you know the truth: Success in any operation — air, land, or sea — depends on communication, coordination, and trust in your team.
Different uniforms. One mission. 🇺🇸
Today’s Airmen are carrying forward the legacy built by those who served before them — adapting, innovating, and standing ready in every domain.
To all our veterans: You laid the foundation. They are building on it.
Salute to the joint force that keeps America strong.

From Lackland AFB in September 1965, at just 18 years old, to C.C.K. Air Base in November 1968, at 21, my journey with the United States Air Force covered some of the most formative years of my life. After years of service during a defining era, I received a seven-month early out and stepped back into what we all called the “Real World.”
Those years shaped who I became, and the memories—both challenging and rewarding—have never faded. Proud to have served, and grateful for the lessons carried forward long after the uniform came off. 🇺🇸✈️

This place was more than a duty station for my fatherit became home.
After retiring from the Air Force, he returned here to continue serving, never truly stepping away from the mission.
A Chief Master Sergeant, a leader, a lifesaver, and above all an incredible father.
Strong, determined, and full of wisdom until the very end.
Rest easy, CMSgt D.C. Cameron Jr. Your service, your strength, and your legacy will never be forgotten.” 🇺🇸🕊️

Made four WestPac cruises aboard the USS Ranger (CVA-61) from 1965 to 1969. One of those cruises had us launching planes right under fire from Cats 3 & 4. Ran Strike Mopix on one tour and spent two of them in the IOIC Photo Lab running four EH-38A’s.
Proud to have served with an incredible crew aboard the Mighty Ranger — memories that last a lifetime. ⚓️🇺🇸
