I hope folks will join us for the Pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Month ceremony at the Downtown Cary Park Wednesday April 15th from 2-3:15 pm and plant a pinwheel to show your support. Why pinwheels? They represent the joyful, carefree way that childhood should be experienced. This is a great opportunity to say hello and thank the professionals who work so hard to support children in our community.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Child Abuse Prevention Month shines a national spotlight on the importance of centering families and building communities where children can grow up safe, healthy, and supported.
Every child deserves to grow up safe, supported, and heard, and we all have a role in prevention. Let’s stay alert, speak out, and speak up!

We are investigating all possible next moves.
Public access to the Convenience Center at 313 N. Dixon Avenue will permanently close in December 2026.
The facility currently operates within the North Carolina Railroad Right-of-Way, and federally funded rail improvements in this corridor require the Town to remove operations from that area by the end of 2026.
The center will remain open through December 30, 2026. Council is currently evaluating future service options. Updates will be shared at https://bit.ly/4aIYKvU as decisions are made.

Looking to support your neighbors in Chatham Estates? NeighborUp (formerly Dorcas) has created a special, dedicated fund to do just that. NeighborUp.org/ChathamEstates Let's come together to supplement the funding that the town of Cary has appropriated through our Stable Homes Cary program. If we come together as a community, we can help these folks recoup their losses on their investment in their mobile homes, which the majority of them own, but they are on privately owned rented land that will be redeveloped. Chip in today at NeighborUp.org/ChathamEstates

Seniors - we want to know what you think!
Help shape the future of Cary’s Senior Center. As our older adult community continues to grow, your feedback is essential in making sure our programs meet your needs.
As part of our annual state accreditation, we’re inviting older adults to share what’s working, what could be improved, and what you’d like to see next. Your input will help guide programs and activities that support connection, health, and overall well-being in Cary. Take the survey today through December 31 at bit.ly/48KY4F6
