🚨🍔🍗 Heading to the new Wendy’s or Bojangles? Here’s a helpful traffic tip!

🚗 Coming into Chapin from Exit 91? We’ve noticed quite a few U-turns! While legal where permitted, please use caution, as they can be dangerous! ⚠️

➡️ Here’s an easier way!

✅ Heading toward downtown Chapin on Columbia Avenue, pass Red Tail Avenue and get into the LEFT turn lane for Ice Way.

🛑 Don’t let the DEAD END sign fool you! Follow Ice Way around the bend, and you’ll find the back entrance to BOTH restaurants! 🍔🍗

🚙 When leaving: Turn right onto Columbia Avenue toward the interstate, OR use the back exit to Ice Way and turn left at the stop sign to head downtown!

What an amazing morning at Mount Horeb Lutheran Church Preschool! ☀️🚓👮‍♂️

Chief Griffin and Sergeant W**d had a wonderful time talking with the children about how first responders help people in our community! The smiles, excitement, and questions made our day! 😊🙌

Thank you to the preschool’s staff and students for welcoming us! We were grateful to get the chance to spend the morning with you! 💙👧🧒🚨

So… how was it?! 😎🇺🇸

We hope you all enjoyed the Chapin Labor Day Parade & Festival because from where we were standing, this was by far one of the BEST yet! 🎉

From the incredible number of friendly, smiling faces lining the parade route to everyone who packed downtown for the festival afterward, it was an awesome day in Chapin! Great vendors, fantastic music, an amazing kids area, and most importantly, a community that showed up in a BIG way! ❤️

The Chapin Police Department was thankful to spend the day out and about with our community. Seeing so many smiling faces reminded us once again just how much we love Chapin! 💙🚔

A huge thank you to our partners at the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department for helping make the parade possible, and to all of our Town of Chapin staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the entire weekend a success!

We’re already looking forward to next year…but first, we’re going to rest up a little. 😂

🇺🇸🎉 IT’S PARADE DAY, CHAPIN! 🎉🇺🇸

☀️ Good morning, Chapin! Here’s another friendly reminder as everyone gets ready for today’s Chapin Labor Day Parade & Festival! 🎊🥁🇺🇸

🚧 Road closures begin at 9:00 AM for the parade route.

🇺🇸🎺 The parade kicks off at 9:30 AM!

🚔🚦 Chapin Road will reopen as soon as the parade has safely concluded, approximately 11:30 AM.

🎪 Additional streets throughout the downtown festival area will remain closed until approximately 4:00 PM.

🚗💨 Please plan ahead, allow yourself a little extra time, and be patient with our officers 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️ and event staff working to keep everyone safe.

🎉🇺🇸 Most importantly, COME OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN!

🚨 Unfortunately, Boots on Beaufort has been canceled due to weather ⛈️, but we’re moving on to tomorrow’s Labor Day Parade & Festival! 🇺🇸🎉🇺🇸

Here’s what you need to know for TOMORROW:

🚧 6:00 AM – Downtown festival road closures begin

🚔 9:00 AM – CHAPIN ROAD CLOSES FOR THE PARADE

🇺🇸 9:30 AM – Labor Day Parade begins

🚗 Approx. 11:30 AM – Chapin Road reopens

🎡 Approx. 4:00 PM – Festival concludes and ALL ROADS REOPEN

📍 Check the attached maps for the parade route and downtown closures.

Make sure to arrive early and grab a good spot! With over 100 entries in this year’s parade, it’s shaping up to be one of the best yet! 🇺🇸

Alright, Chapin, the Labor Day Weekend festivities continue! 🇺🇸🎉

Boots on Beaufort is TONIGHT from 6:00 PM–11:00 PM! 🤠👢

As part of tonight’s event, please be aware of the following road closures:

🚧 Lexington Avenue will be closed at Columbia Avenue and Chapin Road
🚧 Beaufort Street will be closed at Lexington Avenue and Clark Street

Detour routes will remain OPEN:
➡️ East Boundary Street
➡️ Clark Street
➡️ Columbia Avenue

Please pay attention to signage, plan accordingly, and be mindful of increased pedestrian traffic throughout downtown.

Then get ready, tomorrow brings the big Labor Day Parade and Festival! 🇺🇸

Today, we were honored to join so many in paying tribute to the life, service, and ultimate sacrifice of Lance Corporal Chris DeLong.

To our brothers and sisters at the Columbia Police Department, we stand with you, grieve with you, and continue to hold you and the DeLong family in our prayers.

Lance Corporal DeLong’s service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, brother. We have the watch from here. 💙

🚨🇺🇸 LABOR DAY PARADE & FESTIVAL 🚨 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🇺🇸🚨

Labor Day in Chapin is almost here, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the Chapin Labor Day Parade & Festival!

📅 Monday, September 7
🚧 Road closures begin at 9:00 AM
🇺🇸 Parade begins at 9:30 AM

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES
Beginning at 9:00 AM, Chapin Road will be CLOSED from Murray Lindler Road to St. Peter’s Church Road, including all intersections along the parade route.

Please plan accordingly. If you’re coming to the parade, come early and get a prime spot! We’re expecting a great crowd, and arriving early will give you plenty of time to park and get settled before the roads close.

🚗 PARKING
Various parking areas are available throughout town, and Chapin High School will also be available for parking if needed.

👮 Chapin Police Department and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department will have personnel throughout the area assisting with traffic control, pedestrian safety and event security. Please be patient, follow officers’ directions and do not drive around barricades.

The Chapin Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the Columbia Police Department, SC following the tragic loss of Officer Chris DeLong.

Our hearts break for Officer DeLong’s family, friends, fellow officers, and the entire Columbia Police Department. During this most impossible time, please know that our officers in the Town of Chapin, grieve alongside you.

We pray for strength, peace, and comfort for his immediate family, especially his wife and young children, and his entire family in blue as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

We also keep the other officer injured in this incident in our prayers and hope for a full and speedy recovery.

Rest easy, Officer DeLong. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
