What an incredible night!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Eat, Paint & Listen event. The room was filled with love, purpose, and community we were at capacity, almost standing room only!
Your presence meant more than you know. By showing up, you showed our youth and young adults that they are seen, supported, and not alone on their journey from survival to stability.
We are beyond grateful for each of you who attended, donated, volunteered, and believed in the vision.

We are getting closer to our Second Annual Paint, Eat & Listen, and I want to know… have you secured your ticket yet?
This is more than just a fun evening of painting and good food. It’s a chance to come together as a community and hear the heart behind Close Knit Family Housing and the work we are doing to support unaccompanied youth and young adults who need stability, guidance, and a place to grow.
During the event, we will also have a special Q&A session with me, Danielle Brown, Founder and Executive Director, where I’ll be sharing more about the mission, the impact, and the vision for what’s ahead.

Hello everyone,
My name is Danielle Brown, Founder and Executive Director of Close Knit Family Services and Close Knit Family Housing. I am honored to lead an organization committed to supporting and empowering unaccompanied youth and young adults in our community.
As we move forward into this year, I am truly looking forward to the outcomes and impact we will create together. I am especially excited about partnering with local leaders, organizations, and community members who share the same heart for investing in our youth. Our young people are our future, and it is our responsibility to continue pouring into them, uplifting them, and creating opportunities that allow them to thrive.
A principle I stand on comes from the phenomenal Dr. Maya Angelou:
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
I am deeply honored to have been the last scholarship representative of Dr. Maya Angelou. (When she was alive) Because of that, I carry a responsibility to continue her legacy, one that reflects the power of education, compassion, fairness, and treating every person with dignity and equality.
My prayer and commitment is that through this work, we not only provide resources, but also create environments where young people feel seen, valued, and supported.
“The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
— Isaiah 58:11
I am grateful for the journey ahead and excited for what we will accomplish together in service to our community.
