SAC Reid Davis spoke at a joint news conference this afternoon following the indictment and arrests of multiple people at the Garden Inn off I-85 this morning. This action was part of a joint investigation by FBI - Charlotte and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of North Carolina also filed a civil forfeiture action against the hotel.
SAC Davis: "The FBI is reducing violent crime and making our communities safer across the country, including at home in Charlotte. This federal investigation and arrest operation is a direct result of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, a force multiplier putting federal, state, and local agencies side by side, sharing intelligence in real time, and combining resources to target drug traffickers and gangs. Criminals can no longer hide behind jurisdictional lines to escape justice."

After an investigation with assistance from the US Army CID, Kenneth Quick Jr., was convicted on eight federal counts related to murder, drugs, illegal fi****ms, and obstruction. SAC Davis said "Quick likely believed he got away with killing two men and discharging their bodies without a second thought on Fort Bragg property. He clearly didn't consider the dedication and expertise of the FBI Special Agents and our partners who followed the evidence and put together a meticulous timeline of his crimes."
