Tonight is one of the most important nights during the process of becoming a foster parent…PANEL NIGHT!!! Thank you to the families who joined the movement and said “YES” to becoming foster families. Together we are fighting the foster care crisis here in Gaston County. The success we’ve achieved during this year would not be possible without the families of Gaston County.

As of April 2024, there are 10,846 children in foster care across North Carolina. However, there are only 6,057 licensed foster homes available. This severe shortage is forcing many children to be placed far from their home communities, separating them from their schools, friends, and familiar surroundings. As of June 2024, Gaston County has 337 children in foster care, but only 100 licensed foster homes with a capacity to accommodate 182 children. This means nearly half of our foster children, around cannot stay within their community, adding to the trauma they are already facing. The children of Gaston County need YOU. If you are interested in joining the movement to help fight the foster care crisis by attending class or would like to know about the process, please contact 704.862.7987 or click on the link below. We have something for everyone’s schedule. If you can’t make an evening class, we have trainers available during the day and offer a Saturday morning class.
