Spending Spring Break in or around water? Whether they’re spending the day at the lake or playing in the pool, make sure your kids know these basic water safety skills. Kids should be able to:

βšͺ️ Step or jump into water over their head and return to the surface.

βšͺ️ Turn around in the water and orient to safety.

βšͺ️ Float or tread water.

βšͺ️ Combine breathing with forward movement in the water.

βšͺ️ Exit the water.

Even when children know how to swim, we recommend adults take turns supervising.
