Effective today, April 2nd at 8am, all state and local burn bans have been lifted.
Due to increased fire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 8 a.m. Friday, March 21 until further notice.
Under North Carolina law, the ban prohibits all open burning in the affected counties, regardless of whether a permit was previously issued. The issuance of any new permits has also been suspended until the ban is lifted. Anyone violating the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. Any person responsible for setting a fire may be liable for any expenses related to extinguishing the fire.
🔥 If you see something say something 🔥
Stop by your local Fire Department or call your local dispatch to report. Help keep the community safe.
Attention residents: A burn ban will be in place starting at 8am Friday, March 21st until further notice. This includes fire pits and barrels.
The basketball court at the Grover Municipal Park will be closed starting today, March 17th, 2025 and tomorrow March 18th, 2025 for fence installation. Thank you
The Town of Grover will be closely monitoring the weather throughout the night. Although the lastest projections have changed for the better, we still urge residents to use extreme caution if you have to travel. Grover Fire Department is doing a great job in preparing for the worst and providing a safe haven for our residents. We will post updates as the storm moves in. Everyone stay safe.
Duke has restored power at this time and all operations are running normally.
Urging residents to use extreme caution if you are traveling in Town. With the power outage, the railroad crossings are not working. Our crews are out monitoring our stations to be sure everything continues to operate normally. We will continue to be on standby until power is restored.
We are pleased to announce that another phase of the new basketball court has been completed. The concrete has been poured and new goals installed. However, we did receive notification that someone had lowered one of the goals within a few hours of them being installed. We ask that everyone please be respectful of the new equipment and the park rules. Thank you
Announcement: The Grover Municipal Park will be closed today, Monday, March 3rd until Tuesday, March 4th for project maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Attention: the correct address for the Grover Municipal Park is 415 Maple Avenue. If you turn onto Hardin Circle beside Bethany Baptist Church, you make the first left onto Maple Ave and the park will be just down the street on your right.
