to fly and enjoy wide open spaces. In a world dominated by Zoos and Aquariums there is nothing like this exclusively about birds. If it can be done with fish, then we ask why it can’t be done with birds. Fish make no audible sounds and they cannot be held or touched. And yet, there are many successful aquariums around the world. Tourists are drawn to the unknown, the unseen and the colorfully exotic. Aquariums are more costly to run because simply put, it is much more expensive to house animals in water than in air. Aquariums are still popular and state of the art facilities are being constructed all over the world so it begs the question, “If not now, when and if not us, who will be the one to bring this cutting edge concept into reality?”

Approximately one hundred seventy-five acres of land will be dedicated to education, rescue and rehabilitation. We will be to Exotic Birds and the Avian World what Sea World is to Marine Life and the Aquatic world. Much like Louis & Clark, we will be paving the way for the future of avian rescue and educational family parks. Birds-I-View of Charlotte has done much research and determined that this would be a great draw both for local schools as an educational tool and as a tourist attraction for residents and those visiting the area. A main building that houses the more rare birds in individual habitats, 3 continent specific buildings, a butterfly conservatory, an indoor hummingbird garden, waterfowl pond, penguin habitat, raptor/nocturnal building, educational facilities, restaurant, and an amphitheater for shows would all be part of this unique concept. We estimate annual attendance to be around 3 million visitors. Birds-I-View was started by David Krol in 1989. David’s love for birds as a child was the basis for the idea to bring brightly colored Australian Lady Gouldian Finches to the general public in a way that makes them easy to enjoy. Birds-I-View is a company dedicated to preserving the Lady Gouldian Finch which is on the endangered species list. Birds-I-View designs beautiful furniture style bird habitats which they place in offices, hospitals, assisted living facilities and schools throughout the Carolinas. The birds, safe and happy in this environment do breed and help to preserve this wonder of nature. Birds-I-View’s vision for the future is to take exotic birds, in some cases birds that can no longer be cared for, and release them into football field size buildings to enjoy their lives cage free. With the visually appealing color palette presented in the display of exotic birds, we will offer a rare glimpse into a tropical world few ever venture into. We would like to be able to instill in our guests a new appreciation for the worlds’ avian bio-diversity. We will offer visitors the unique opportunity to see the birds in an up close and personal environment that will stimulate a desire to learn more about birds and how to protect the birds dwindling population. When done properly, education that is done through entertainment is well worth the price of admission. Visitors will learn about birds through tours, programs, discussions and interactive learning. We will strive to delight and educate, not just satisfy. It was Charles Lindbergh who said, “If I had to choose, I would rather have birds than airplanes.”
