MRF Line Of Effort #3 (LOE 3): Preservation of Reconnaissance history, traditions & culture.

The Reconnaissance Foundation strives to preserve the rich history and traditions of our community from its inception to current day. One of our primary LOE’s is focused on this task.

If any teammates or family members would like to share photos, videos, oral interviews or narrative stories, please let us know by messaging us on any platform.

Royal Marines from Clyde-based 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group participated in the Remembrance Day service at Achnacarry's Commando Monument on November 12, 2017.

The ceremony included the Lochaber Schools Pipe Band, the Royal British Legion Scotland, and the Commando Veterans Association. Reverends Richard Baxter and Morag Muirhead led the service, with readings from Psalm 45 and the Commando Prayer of St Ignatius.

Colonel Tony de Reya laid a wreath, while WO1 Al Sullivan read from the Role of Honour. WWII Commandos, including 95-year-olds Jack Lamb and Ted Owen, also attended. The monument is on the historic training grounds of the early Commandos.
