📌 Did You Know?

BCSD Schools are dealing with aging infrastructure and mechanical systems that are past their prime, and it’s affecting day-to-day school operations.

🔹 A fire suppression system in one school is around 70 years old and frequently malfunctions.
🔹 Some buildings struggle with consistently functioning boilers, leaving classrooms too cold at times.
🔹 Roofs, windows, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are outdated or in need of repair, meaning they’re often reacting to problems instead of preventing them.
🔹 Improvements identified by a facilities audit are projected to cost $117 million over the next decade.

This referendum is about ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient learning environments for our students and staff, not about building something extravagant.
