The Mayor's Council on Livability and Aging recognizes the impact that loving and concerned grandparents have on the shaping of the future of their grandchildren and the children of the community, especially in these times that are so different than when most parents and grandparents grew up. Come be apart of the viewing and discussion of a free documentary "Chasing Childhood" that dives into why children need play and and independent exploration which seems to be lacking in the current work of technology and extra curricular activities. Chattanooga weather brings high temperatures from late Spring through the early Fall. Older Adults are especially vulnerable to the dangers of extreme heat. The Mayor's Council on Livability and Aging is doing its part to help make sure that our seniors stay comfortable during the high temperature seasons ahead by organizing the "Keep Granny Kool" Fan Drive. They are now accepting donations of new, traditional, personal and chargeable fans.
