The Hamilton County Health Dept Medical Reserve Corps is a group of volunteers interested in supporting community public health emergency preparedness.

The Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer pool of both medical and non-medical professionals ready to support and augment local resources during public health emergencies. The MRC volunteers are offered trainings, and a variety of exercises and drills that they can participate in to prepare for potential response during an emergency.

On Wednesday, some of our MRC volunteers met at the Southeast Regional office to assemble CARETag kits for Tennessee's Dementia Navigator Program.

The CARETag program helps families of older adults with dementia or disabilities prepare for emergencies by securely storing essential medical information for quick access by first responders.

We are thankful for the opportunity to learn from Amy French of the Bradley County Health Department and support this exciting new initiative!

As a winter storm is expected in our area this weekend, please take a few moments to prepare by checking your emergency supplies, ensuring you have enough food, water, medications, and batteries, and charging all electronic devices. Stay informed through local weather alerts, limit travel if conditions worsen, and take steps now to protect yourself and your family from cold-related hazards. As MRC volunteers, you are leaders in community preparedness, and we truly appreciate you checking on neighbors and helping ensure vulnerable community members are prepared. Stay safe!
