Kelly for Chelsea I’m a Chelsea native, currently serving on the Chelsea School Committee as the youngest member and only teacher on the board. I am running for re-election.

I would like to continue championing Chelsea students and empowering students by amplifying their voice. I fought for a Safe Haven Resolution, which passed unanimously, to ensure that students in Chelsea are protected and feel as though they are in an inclusive community. I also worked hard to pass the Freedom of Speech Resolution and am looking for innovative ways to collaborate with key leaders in the community to find funding and programming for students that is rooted in social justice. To ensure students were prepared for their academic school year, I helped plan a back to school event where families and students received free backpacks and school supplies. I’m incredibly active in Chelsea, the community where I was raised. Most recently, I organized citywide donation drives for Hurricane Maria relief efforts, which generated over 500,000 pounds of food and water being sent to Puerto Rico. I am currently a Learning Specialist at Excel Academy Charter High School. It is an honor to continue to advocate, strategize, and fight for our students and community.

Chelsea deserves a waterfront we can enjoy for generations. 💙

I’m proud to share that my resolution calling for a stronger Mary O’Malley State Park pier restoration project passed the City Council with a majority vote!

The resolution urges DCR to give residents a meaningful voice, prioritize climate resilience, restore boating access, and explore future water taxi or ferry connections.

Thank you to my colleagues who supported this effort. I’ll keep advocating for a waterfront that reflects our community’s needs and Chelsea’s future.
Chelsea merece una costa que podamos disfrutar por generaciones. 💙

¡Me enorgullece compartir que mi resolución para fortalecer el proyecto de restauración del muelle del Parque Estatal Mary O’Malley fue aprobada por mayoría de votos en el Concejo Municipal!

La resolución insta al DCR a garantizar que los residentes tengan voz en las decisiones, priorizar la resiliencia climática, restablecer el acceso para embarcaciones y explorar futuras conexiones de taxi acuático o ferry.

Gracias a mis colegas que apoyaron esta iniciativa. Seguiré abogando por una costa que responda a las necesidades de nuestra comunidad y al futuro de Chelsea.

A little appreciation post for two incredible women doing great work for Chelsea. ❤️

Bea Cravatta, our Director of Recreation & Cultural Affairs, and Devon Fields, our Deputy City Manager for Operations, both bring so much energy, care, and dedication to our city.

From creating opportunities that bring our community together to helping move forward big-picture initiatives like Chelsea Pa’Lante, their work touches so many parts of life in Chelsea.

I’m grateful to work alongside women who genuinely care about our residents and about where Chelsea is headed. Thank you, Bea and Devon, for everything you do — so much of the work that keeps our city moving happens behind the scenes, and it deserves to be celebrated!

Bea Cravatta, nuestra Directora de Recreación y Asuntos Culturales, y Devon Fields, nuestra Subadministradora Municipal de Operaciones, aportan muchísimo compromiso, dedicación y cariño a nuestra ciudad.

Last week was such a special opportunity to reflect on Chelsea’s history and the leadership that has helped shape our city over the last 35 years.

Hearing from four of Chelsea’s past and present City Managers, all together in one room, was a powerful reminder of just how much our city has evolved.

As a City Councilor, I’m grateful to be part of this chapter of Chelsea’s story—and even more grateful for the residents, leaders, and community members who continue to push our city forward.

35 years of leadership, growth, challenges, and change. And we’re still moving forward. ❤️


La semana pasada tuve una oportunidad muy especial de reflexionar sobre la historia de Chelsea y el liderazgo que ha ayudado a transformar nuestra ciudad durante los últimos 35 años.

Escuchar a cuatro de los administradores municipales, pasados y actuales, reunidos en un mismo lugar fue un gran recordatorio de cuánto ha evolucionado nuestra ciudad.

Como concejal de la ciudad, me siento agradecida de ser parte de este capítulo de la historia de Chelsea, y aún más agradecida por nuestros residentes, líderes y miembros de la comunidad que continúan impulsando nuestra ciudad hacia adelante.

Last week, we had the opportunity to visit the Forbes site and see firsthand what the future of this waterfront could look like for Chelsea. 🌿

A huge shoutout to GreenRoots for more than 20 years of advocacy, fighting to make sure our residents have access to our waterfront and the green spaces our community deserves.

For far too long, this 18-acre site has been closed off and inaccessible. My hope is that its next chapter is one where Chelsea families can walk along the water, enjoy nature, gather with their neighbors, and truly feel that this waterfront belongs to them too.

This has been a long fight, and there is still work ahead, but seeing the possibilities firsthand was incredibly exciting. May this become a space for Chelsea, shaped by Chelsea, and enjoyed for generations to come. 💚


La semana pasada tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar el antiguo sitio de Forbes y ver de primera mano lo que podría significar el futuro de este espacio frente al mar para Chelsea. 🌿

Un enorme reconocimiento a GreenRoots por más de 20 años de lucha y compromiso para asegurar que nuestros residentes tengan acceso a nuestra costa y a los espacios verdes que nuestra comunidad merece.

Durante demasiado tiempo, este terreno de 18 acres ha permanecido cerrado e inaccesible para nuestra comunidad. Mi esperanza es que su próximo capítulo sea uno donde las familias de Chelsea puedan caminar junto al agua, disfrutar de la naturaleza, compartir con sus vecinos y sentir que este espacio también les pertenece.

Ha sido una lucha de muchos años y todavía queda trabajo por hacer, pero fue muy emocionante ver de cerca todo el potencial de este lugar. Que este espacio sea para Chelsea, creado pensando en Chelsea y disfrutado por las próximas generaciones. 💚

Proud to have joined Governor Healey in Chelsea for the signing of the PROTECT Act.

This law helps make sure our schools stay focused on education, our hospitals on caring for patients, and our courthouses on delivering justice.

Huge congratulations to our own Rep Judith García for helping lead this effort, and thank you to the members of the Massachusetts Black & Latino Caucus for your advocacy and partnership in getting this across the finish line.

A special thank you to my aunt, Gladys Vega—a true shero and someone I’ve always looked up to. Thank you for never stopping the fight for our immigrant communities. Your leadership continues to inspire me and so many others. La Colaborativa

Orgullosa de haber acompañado a la Gobernadora Healey en Chelsea para la firma de la Ley PROTECT.

Esta ley ayuda a garantizar que nuestras escuelas sigan siendo espacios para aprender, nuestros hospitales lugares para cuidar a quienes lo necesitan y nuestros tribunales espacios donde se haga justicia.

Felicitaciones a nuestra representante estatal, Judith García, por su liderazgo para hacer realidad esta legislación. También quiero agradecer a los miembros del Caucus Legislativo Negro y Latino de Massachusetts por su compromiso y colaboración para sacar adelante esta importante ley.

A time was had in Denver!🏆

Last week, 63 of us had the honor of representing Chelsea at the All-America City Awards, and we proudly brought home our fourth All-America City Award.

I’m so proud of our community, our partners, and everyone who puts in the work day in and day out to make Chelsea stronger. It was an honor to represent our city and celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together.

Chelsea, this one is for you. 💙

La semana pasada, 63 de nosotros tuvimos el honor de representar a Chelsea en los premios All-America City, y con mucho orgullo trajimos a casa nuestro cuarto reconocimiento como All-America City.
