National School Bus Safety Week | October 19–23, 2026

Big yellow bus. Little passengers. BIG responsibility!

Every school day, thousands of students depend on school buses to get them safely to and from school. During National School Bus Safety Week, Chesterfield County School District reminds all drivers to SLOW DOWN, STAY ALERT, and KNOW WHEN TO STOP!

🚦 Remember South Carolina's school bus safety laws:

🛑 Two-lane roads: Traffic in BOTH directions must stop.

🛑 Multi-lane roads: Know the rules for your roadway. On roads with four or more lanes, traffic traveling in the same direction as the bus must stop.

🛑 Never pass a stopped school bus when you are required to stop for its flashing red lights.

❤️ A few extra seconds of patience could save a child's life!

Let's work together to protect our most precious cargo, our students!

💕 CCSD Goes PINK! 💕🎀

Today, Chesterfield County School District is PINKED OUT in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗

From our classrooms to our offices, students and staff are wearing pink to spread awareness, honor survivors, remember those we've lost, and stand beside those still fighting.

Together, we wear pink to show that HOPE is stronger when we stand together! 💪💕

Thank you to everyone who joined us in turning CCSD into a sea of PINK! 🌸

🎉🎨 Congratulations to Alex Gaston of Cheraw High School! 👕🧙‍♀️

We are excited to celebrate Alex, whose winning T-shirt design was selected for the Hartsville Witch's 5K! 🏃‍♀️🍂 What a wonderful way to showcase student creativity while supporting a great cause!

🧡 The Hartsville Witch's 5K is a family-friendly community event that brings people together for a fun day while giving back to those in need.

This event benefits the SPC Cares Foundation, which supports hunger relief, housing, employment, and education throughout our local communities. Through monetary donations, in-kind donation drives, and volunteerism, the Foundation works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Its initiatives include the Community Impact Fund, SPC Scholarship Fund, Down Payment Assistance Fund, and Member Hardship Fund.

We are so proud of Alex for using her artistic talent to contribute to an event that supports such an important mission! ❤️🖤 Join us in congratulating Alex on this fantastic accomplishment!
