Pride Month is just around the corner and you know what that means ...
the homophobes and transphobes will be triggered.

But here's the interesting thing about that — the people who complain about Pride are the very reason Pride still exists.

If LGBTQ+ people were fully accepted, protected, and treated with dignity, there would be far less need for a month dedicated to visibility, community, inclusivity and advocacy.

But every year, right on schedule, people show up to complain about rainbow flags, same-sex couples, transgender people, pronouns, drag queens, and the mere existence of LGBTQ+ people.

So every year when someone asks, “Why do we still need Pride?”

The answer usually shows up in the comments.

Happy Pride to everyone.

Summer Reading is on its way! The theme this year is Plant a Seed, Read.

“Plant a Seed, Read” is inspired by the farm-to-table journey. Just as farms grow food that nourishes our bodies, libraries cultivate ideas that nourish our minds. Food and stories both connect us to family, culture, community, and the world around us. Through iREAD 2026: Plant a Seed, Read, readers will explore themes of culture, history, science, wellness, and human connection.

Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
