Giannoulias Abandons State Of Illinois For City Of Chicago

JOLIET — Diane Harris, GOP nominee for Illinois Secretary of State, today called on Alexi Giannoulias to withdraw as a candidate for Illinois Secretary of State after Giannoulias announced his campaign for Mayor of the City of Chicago for the February 23, 2027 Chicago municipal primary election.

"Abandoning your public responsibilities in August, 2026 to run for another public office after you pledged to voters in December, 2025 that you planned to serve four years as Secretary of State is just wrong. Giannoulias is abandoning his government duties for the full-time job of running for Mayor of Chicago, but he is hollowing out his very politicized government staff to populate his campaign office, starting with his Chief of Staff while he wrestles in the political mud with the other candidates in Chicago for the next six months ?"

Retiree Diane Harris is a former International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 15, and Chief Steward, a small business owner and former Illinois licensed insurance agent, and a current part-time substitute teacher for a Joliet school district. Harris also currently serves as an elected member of the Joliet Junior College Board of Trustees and appointed to the Joliet Public Library since 2016.

"When you try to do two full-time jobs at the same time, you are destined to fail at both. That's not good for the State of Illinois or the City of Chicago, both of which are currently suffering from a lack of responsible leaders who will create long term solutions to solve decades old problems," said Harris. "Worse still is the prospect of Giannoulias winning the Mayoral election and, if he is re-elected to his state office in a few months, creating a vacancy in the office of Secretary of State which will undoubtedly be filled by some unelected political hack chosen by party insiders in a back room in Springfield."

Diane Harris pledged unequivocally that if she is elected to the office of Illinois Secretary of State, she will serve the full four year term.

"If the voters of Illinois elect me you will be sure to find me in the office of the Illinois Secretary of State from January, 2027 through January, 2031," said Harris.

The choice is clear: elect someone committed to the job, not the next opportunity.

What EXACTLY does the DSA "love" about America?

Twenty-nine percent of Democrats say they are extremely or very proud to be American. For Republicans the number is 90 percent.

Twenty-five years ago both parties sat near 87 percent. That is not a policy gap. That is a country gap.

They treat the flag like a warning label. Sixty-four percent of Republicans planned to fly it on the Fourth. Twenty-seven percent of Democrats said the same.

Eleven percent of Democrats call this the greatest country on earth. Sixty-two percent of Republicans do.

Pew found 70 percent of Democrats believe American society is fundamentally racist. Two-thirds of them look at socialism with a smile.

They hate the border because a border means a country. They hate the police until they need one.

They hate the military unless it is an office for social experiments.

They hate the oil and gas that heat their houses and fly their planes.

They hate the Electoral College, the Senate, and the Supreme Court the minute those things will not rubber-stamp them.

They hate the nuclear family. A Michigan Democrat running this year put it in writing.

They hate a man and a woman as the definition of marriage.

They hate girls sports the second a boy wants the trophy.

They hate churches that will not rewrite the Bible.

They hate Israel and find excuses for the people who murder Jews. They hate capitalism, which is the only reason this country can afford their lectures.

JD Vance said it at the convention this month. The Democrats are the party of hatred. They despise America and the people who built it.

So how do you coexist with people who hate the flag, the family, the law, the border, and the idea that this country is worth keeping?

You do not pretend the argument is about tax rates. You do not meet them halfway on a nation they want to gut.

You vote them out of power on November 3 and you stop apologizing for loving the place they mock.

Can you share a country with people who are ashamed of the flag you fly?
