Thank you to the residents of the 18th Ward for coming out yesterday to talk with District Council 008- CCPSA and Alder. Derrick Curtis. During our Coffee and Conversation the topics were wide ranging and had people from all age groups and backgrounds. We can say there will be no data center at Ford City and Alderman Curtis promised to continue conversations with the community as it pertains to Ford City in the future as needed to keep residents aware of what's going on.
We look forward to our next Coffee and Conversation with Ald. Raymond A. Lopez this upcoming Saturday at Carmelo's Tacos on W. 59th Street in the 15th Ward.

Today, we joined Ald. Quinn, 23rd Ward Alderman Silvana Tabares, State Representative Angelica Guerrero-Cuellar , State Senator Mike Porfirio, the 8th District Chicago Police Department and others to honor the life of Officer Enrique Martinez with a Street Dedication Ceremony. Kudos to all who made this possible.
It was an honor to be there and pay respect to Officer Martinez, his family, and his fellow officers. We know that our officers go out on a daily basis to keep the city as safe as possible even when they have the deck stacked against them with regulations
As mentioned during the ceremony... the ultimate act of selflessness is to give one's life for another. To Officer Martinez you are and forever will be remembered as a shining star for the sacrifice you made to help others. God Bless our Chicago Police Officers!

Hosting and attending community events is one of the key things that district councilors can do to hear from residents and educate more about the CCPSA.
Today, District Council 008- CCPSA alongside 12th Ward Alderwoman Julia Ramirez and 8th District Chicago Police Department hosted residents from the 12th Ward. We provided a light breakfast courtesy of Don Rafa Restaurants while talking to residents one on one.
We also stopped by Alderman Derrick G. Curtis Town Hall as City Departments were on hand to address questions from residents.
We continue on with community engagement Saturday with a teen youth forum at Hubbard. Any groups, block clubs, organizations who like to learn more about the CCPSA and District Councils please message us and we will be glad to setup something with your group.
