History is being made. 19 Republicans joined Democrats to pass the Ukraine Support Act H.R.2913
Speakers from both parties made it clear: Putin must fail. His war is pure evil. It’s disappointing that fear of russia and its nuclear threats still lingers in the debate. America has always done a right thing. Leading the free world requires courage, conviction, and decisive actions which we have witnessed today.
Proud of our Illinois Representative for standing on the right side of history!
Next stop for this legislation: the Senate. The bill includes powerful sanctions that would further weaken russia’s economy while strengthening Ukraine’s defense. It also sends a clear message to dictators and authoritarian-minded "leaders" abroad but and at home as well. Truth is on our side. 🇺🇸🇺🇦

📣 On May 28, the Ukrainian community of Chicago had the opportunity to welcome newly appointed Consul General of Ukraine in Chicago, Kostyantyn Vorona, and bid farewell to former Consul General Serhiy Koledov as he concludes his tenure in Chicago. We wish him all the best going forward. Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago
The event, organized by UCCA Illinois, brought together community leaders, clergy, and activists. Over the past four and a half years, one of the most challenging periods in the history of modern Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora, our community has grown closer and stronger. We know who organizes fundraisers, ships aid, educates, tells Ukraine’s story, meets with elected officials at the city, state, and federal levels to keep Ukraine on the radar, and who works tirelessly behind the scenes every day.
We look forward to working with Consul General Vorona on new and existing initiatives. At the same time, we must remember that elected officials and decision-makers listen to their constituents. It is our responsibility to continue advocating for Ukraine, building bridges with other communities, and expanding support for Ukraine’s victory, the return of POWs and abducted children, and a just and lasting peace. Our collective voice remains one of the most powerful tools we have.
The work continues. Join the effort. 🇺🇦🇺🇸

“I’d like to be that person that can turn my brain off, but I am not.”
Rima came to the US for a short visit with her mother -a brief break from serving in Ukraine as a combat medic. But even while here physically, her mind never leaves the front lines. Active bombing continues as we speak and she constantly checks her phone to check on her friends and fellow medics.
She shares countless stories about shortages of the simplest but most critical medical supplies - suturing materials, breathable tape, adhesives, and especially tourniquets. Alongside serving on the front, Rima also trains and retrains other combat medics.
Tomorrow, she flies back to Ukraine carrying 10 bags filled with urgently needed medical supplies. Tonight’s fundraiser at Tryzub Ukrainian Kitchen was in support of her work through Blue Yellow Ukraine USA was small, and we know life keeps everyone busy, but the need remains urgent. You can still support Rima’s mission with a tax-deductible donation.
Deep gratitude to Dr. Myron Lewyckyj and his wonderful family not only for hosting the event, but also for personally supporting Rima with critical medical supplies, and to the entire Tryzub team for their help.
Tourniquets, gauze, suture material, and other lifesaving supplies are constantly needed.
Real courage looks like this. Please support and share.
Donations are tax deductible,
