Check out ways you can help support SkinnerPalooza at Skinner West Elementary School! SkinnerPalooza by Friends of Skinner West inspires students to give back to their community.

The event recognizes the fundraising efforts of more than 1,100 Skinner West Elementary School students and gives them a well-earned day of music, inflatables, games, activities and outdoor fun.

The money raised supports student classrooms, curriculum, programming, building upgrades, and fills in the gaps when other funding may lack.

They are currently looking for local businesses and community partners to support SkinnerPalooza, their annual school-wide celebration taking place on October 8.

Bring them out to the Recycling, Shredding, Drug, and Electronic Take Back event. 🗑️

Our office is joining Pres. Kari Steele, Comm. Yumeka Brown, Sheriff Tom Dart, and State Rep. Jawaharial Omar Williams to host this free event for the community.

📅 Saturday, September 12th, 2026

🕙 10 AM to 12 PM, or until full load capacity is reached

📍 United Center, Lot C, 1901 W. Madison St, Chicago, IL 60612

Accepted items include cellphones, laptops, desktops, printers, TVs, fax machines, computer hardware and cables, calculators, and prescribed drugs (must be in original containers, no needles or liquid medicines).

Free and open to the public. Come clear out the clutter! ♻
