After adjourning after 4:00am Monday, there is a lot to unpack from the last day of our legislative session. That starts with the $55.9 billion budget.
Illinois families are looking for affordability, stability, and opportunity. They need a budget that helps keep costs down, strengthens local businesses, and supports economic growth. Instead, this budget relies on tax increases, gimmicks, and fund sweeps; it is out of touch with what our state truly needs.

We honored Memorial Day on the House Floor today with a ceremony that included the Reading of the Resolution of Honor, Roll Call of Fallen Soldiers, and a performance of Amazing Grace by two lawmakers.
Today's ceremony is an essential reminder of the Illinois service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As we get to work this final week of the spring legislative session, we remind Democrats that Illinois doesn't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem. The tax, spend, repeat tactics of the past have pushed residents to the brink. It's time to rein it in and finally provide some relief for Illinois families.
GOP: IL Dems don’t have a revenue problem … - Capitol City Now
... they have a spending problem.

May we never forget the reason for the Memorial Day holiday, to honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free. We may not know them all, but we owe them all. Be sure to take a moment today to remember our fallen military heroes.
