Southside Occupational Academy - Transition Center

🌿💜 We are proud to see the talents of our Southside students making a difference in the community! Through the guidance of horticulture teachers Mrs. Dimas and Ms. N. Thomas, students at our Main Building campus grew, harvested, and handcrafted beautiful personal care products and floral items that were donated to A New Direction.

From dried flower bouquets to bath salts, body oils, cuticle oils, and natural potpourri, these student-created gifts were made with care and purpose. Thank you to A New Direction for sharing how these donations uplift and support your clients. We are proud of our students for using their skills to spread kindness, creativity, and community connection. 💙🌱

🎓✨ Senior Ball 2026 ✨🎓

Southside’s graduating seniors are getting ready for a special night to celebrate the Class of 2026! 💃🕺

📅 Friday, May 29th
🕕 6:00–9:00 p.m.
📍 Vineyard Banquet Hall

❗This event is for graduating seniors only - no dates or guests will be permitted.

🚗 Transportation will NOT be provided. Families are responsible for drop-off and pick-up.

📄 Seniors brought home a Senior Ball form today. Families, please complete and return the bottom portion as soon as possible so we can finalize our head count for the event.

We can’t wait to celebrate our seniors! 🎉

🎓 Graduation is Almost Here! 🎓

Southside Occupational Academy’s Class of 2026 graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 28th at the Beverly Arts Center from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We are excited to celebrate this special milestone with our students and families! 💙

📬 Graduation tickets are coming home with students today in an envelope. Each graduate has received 4 tickets for family members. Please be sure to check backpacks and keep tickets in a safe place, as they will be required for entry.

A few important reminders:
• Families may enter the auditorium beginning at 9:45 AM
• Balloons are not permitted
• Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony
• Students should report to school at their normal time and will travel to the ceremony with staff
