Steinmetz College Prep takes #3 in the list of the with only a 68% graduation rate. It's time for Chicago Public Schools to put Steinmetz LSC on probation. Local School Councils (LSC) are responsible for:

1-Approving the school based academic plan (CIWP)
2-Approving the alignment of budgetary resources to the CIWP
3- Engaging in the annual evaluation of contract principal’s professional practices
4- Selecting or renewing contract principals

LSC for is as follow:
Vanessa Valentin (works for alderman office) President / Parent
Jose Quiles (Vanessa's father) V-President / Community Rep
Cornell Davis Secretary / Teacher
Norma Lopez Community Rep
Robin Russo TeacherAngel DeJesus ESP
Cassandra Hernandez Parent
Juan Arzuaga Parent
Javier Toledo Parent
Mercedes Aguirre Parent
Vacant Parent
Keidy Cervantes Student

If the LSC is catering to the principal you must vote them out. Students come first...period!!!

Regular people have to run for LSC, vote, and be engaged. Educate yourself on candidates and most importantly what connections they have to want to be part of an LSC and lastly make your voice count. The right people in an LSC can make a huge impact in our future generations.
