The Gay Liberation Network is a multi-issue direct action group that promotes the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex people.
The Gay Liberation Network is not a narrow, "gay rights-only" group. While we focus on LGBT rights, we recognize that ours is truly a rainbow community, of all genders, races and religious beliefs (or lack thereof). As such, we offer direct solidarity to those fighting oppression, whether they are LGBT or not. Given the United States' imperial role in the world -- with troops in 130+ countries, ex
porting far more arms than any other nation, and spending as much on its military as nearly the rest of the world combined -- we see it as our moral and political responsibility to speak out against the attempts of the U.S. government to impose its will on other peoples, and to support their self-determination. Only then are we in true solidarity with LGBTs and non-LGBTs outside of the United States. The Gay Liberation Network also hosts a Facebook discussion group, which can be found by searching FB for "GLN: Chicago-Area LGBTQA Liberation Network."
