The Sachse Police Department stands with the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office as they mourn the loss of Deputy Adam Sherifi, who died in the line of duty on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Deputy Sherifi, 31, was shot while assisting the Canton Police Department with serving felony warrants south of Canton. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Our thoughts are with his family, his fellow deputies, the Canton Police Department, and the entire Van Zandt County community. Deputy Sherifi gave his life serving others, and we will honor his sacrifice. 💙

These two furry friends got so close that their faces merged into one very strange-looking animal.

With bright yellow eyes, a Labrador-like snout, and a toothy grin, the creature had people wondering whether they were looking at a cat-dog or a dog-cat.

But look a little closer, and the mystery becomes clear. It's actually a black cat resting upside down on a black dog's head.

The two grew up together and are so comfortable cuddling that they've accidentally created one hilarious optical illusion.

As one person joked, it's almost like they're sharing the same body.
