Elmwood Place Police Request Public’s Help in Identifying Vehicle Theft Suspects

Elmwood Place, OH – The Elmwood Place Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying individuals responsible for a recent increase in vehicle thefts and break-ins throughout the village.

Over the past several weeks, there has been a noticeable uptick in incidents involving suspects targeting unlocked vehicles. In several cases, suspects have entered cars to steal valuables and, in some instances, have stolen vehicles that were left running with keys inside.

To help prevent further incidents, residents are strongly encouraged to:

Always lock their vehicles.

Remove keys and valuables when leaving the car.

Avoid leaving vehicles running unattended.

UPDATE: Missing Juvenile Located Safely

We’re very happy to report that the missing 13-year-old juvenile has returned home safe and sound.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who shared the alert, sent in tips, and offered support during this time. The outpouring of help from the community—and especially the shares on Facebook—played a vital role in helping bring this child back home.

Missing Juvenile – Elmwood Place Police Department Seeking Public’s Assistance

Elmwood Place, OH — The Elmwood Place Police Department is actively attempting to locate a missing 13-year-old female juvenile who was last seen entering a black Ford pickup truck with scrap metal in the truck bed. The vehicle left the area shortly afterward.

The juvenile is described as a 13-year-old female, thin build, with long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, shorts, and carrying a black bag.

Today, our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a dedicated deputy—a protector, a public servant, and a truly good man.

To his family, friends, and fellow officers, we are so deeply sorry. No words can ease the pain of such a sudden and tragic loss, but please know his service mattered. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.

April 30, 2025

Second Arrest Made in April 6th Aggravated Robbery Case

Elmwood Place, OH — The Elmwood Place Police Department announces a significant development in the ongoing investigation of the aggravated robbery that occurred on April 6, 2025, near Linden Street and Elmwood Avenue.

On April 29, 2025, officers arrested 19-year-old Glen Armstead in connection with the case. The arrest followed a thorough investigation that led officers to a residence in Colerain Township, where Armstead was reported to be living, according to information from the Electronic Monitoring Unit (EMU).

With the assistance of the Cincinnati Police Department, Colerain Township Police, EMU and the Hamilton County SWAT team, a search warrant was executed at the residence. Armstead was taken into custody without incident.

This marks the second arrest related to the April 6th incident. The investigation remains active as authorities continue efforts to identify and apprehend two additional suspects involved in the crime.

Elmwood Place Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Vandalism Suspect

Elmwood Place, OH – The Elmwood Place Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a series of property damage incidents on the 300 block of Linden Street.

Over the past several weeks, the subject has caused roughly $2,000 in damages. Investigators believe the suspect may be known to the victim. The individual is described as a white male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, who walks with a noticeable limp.

Shooting Investigation on Highland Avenue

Elmwood Place, OH – At approximately 5:45 PM on April 18, 2025, officers from the Elmwood Place Police Department, with the assistance of units from the Cincinnati Police Department (CPD) and St. Bernard Police Department, responded to reports of a shooting in the 5800 block of Highland Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) also responded and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Aggravated Robbery and Vehicle Pursuit – Public Assistance Requested

On Sunday at approximately 3:00 PM, Elmwood Place officers, in conjunction with St. Bernard units, responded to Linden Street and Elmwood Avenue regarding an aggravated robbery in progress. Officers promptly secured the victim and obtained surveillance footage capturing the incident, which led to the issuance of a broadcast regarding the suspect vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, Cincinnati Police spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, which resulted in a multi-jurisdictional pursuit. A rear passenger exited the vehicle and was promptly apprehended with a firearm. This individual was arrested for Aggravated Robbery with a Firearm and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.

The vehicle continued northbound on Spring Grove at speeds approaching 100 mph. Due to inclement weather and safety concerns, officers terminated the pursuit. The suspect vehicle was last seen in the vicinity of Vine Street and Murray Road.
