Established in 1918, The St. John Passion Play is the oldest passion play in the United States. The cast and crew is entirely volunteer.
The cast and crew are composed of individuals of all ages, from all walks of life and from different denominational philosophies; the entire cast and crew are entirely voluntary. Each year they strive to add new authenticity to the play and give it greater spiritual impact. The play is typically performed during the season of Lent with the final performance on Palm Sunday.
