This morning, Treasurer Schiller and Auditor Miranda (Hamilton County, Ohio Auditor's Office) were invited for a tour of the main branch of Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library. They've done amazing work, not only downtown, but across our county!

Did you know that they have one of the largest collections of materials in the country? Not only that, but they're also one of the busiest!

The Hamilton County Budget Commission is decked out in green and wishing you a very lucky St. Patrick’s Day!

The Budget Commission consists of the county auditor, the county treasurer (Hamilton County Treasurer's Office), and the prosecuting attorney (Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office). It is the responsibility of the Commission to annually review the tax budgets of the political subdivisions within the county, including the county, townships, municipalities, and special districts.

During the meeting, Auditor Jessica Miranda shared, "Changes to the Ohio Revised Code now require the Budget Commission, during one public meeting annually, to offer testimony describing the following: the concept and function of taxes levied within the ten-mill limitation, how such taxes are allocated to various jurisdictions in the county, and the fiscal impact of these taxes being exempt from state reduction factors."

Meeting Details:
Regular monthly meetings are held at 11:00 AM
138 E. Court Street, Rm 304
Cincinnati, Ohio 45202

For further information, including this year's meeting schedule, please visit the "Budget Commission" page on our website!
