FROM TRAINING TO THE JOB SITE—THIS IS THE PIPELINE IN ACTION
This photo represents more than a crew on a job site—it represents a system that delivers results.
Journeys Soaring Impact is a nonprofit pre-apprenticeship program creating real pathways for inner-city high school seniors. Students join after their junior year, begin working that summer, and continue throughout their senior year—earning while they learn.
Along the way, they gain hands-on ironworking experience, strengthen critical math skills, and develop the professionalism required to succeed in the trades.
The crew pictured here is erecting structural and miscellaneous steel, including structural framing for roof openings and metal roof deck.
Of the four individuals on this crew, three are graduates of the Journeys Soaring Impact program.
That outcome is not by chance—it is by design. This model ensures participants move from training directly into opportunity, equipped with the skills and experience employers need.
For 11 years, Journeys Soaring Impact has demonstrated what happens when access, preparation, and paid experience align. Employers gain dependable, skilled talent. Young people gain careers with strong earning potential and long-term stability.
Journeys Soaring Impact is workforce development done right.
