Welcome to the St. Xavier High School Young Conservatives' Club- a broad-based coalition and forum where conservative members of the St. Lunches are welcome!
Xavier Community- Republicans, libertarians, and Tea Party members- can learn and grow in their Constitutional values. Founded in 2010 by Paul Mittermeier ('13) and Mrs. Jill Thurman and currently moderated by the Senior Leadership in the Club, the St. Xavier High School Young Conservatives' Club serves as a constructive forum for like-minded conservative members of the St. X Community where indiv
iduals can reinforce one another in their economically, socially, and/or politically conservative values. In keeping with its aim to be a broad-based coalition, the Young Conservatives' Club is open to all Constitutionally-oriented students and faculty members: Republicans, members of the Tea Party, libertarians, and those of other right-wing affiliations. The club adheres to a code of shared principles rather than party affiliation; these values include fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally-limited government, transparency, laissez-faire free enterprise, and civic participation. In addition to its weekly meetings and its historical, political, social, and economic issue discussions (which may utilize primary and secondary source articles, texts, films, and video and audio clips), the club maintains the school's Cell Phones for Soldiers Program, it hosts guest speakers, it leads special efforts such as petition-circulating, it watches pertinent films and movies, it maintains contact with the St. Xavier Community through the school newspaper and other media, and it occasionally engages its rival Young Liberals' Club in spirited debate for the benefit of the student body. Join us today in defense of liberty! Club Meeting Information: The club meets every Tuesday, Flex 1, in Room 1512, unless otherwise announced. Changes in meeting time and special events will be conveyed via school announcements. Follow us on Twitter: @StXPatriot
