The beautiful warm weather has brought people outside doing yard work. There have been several field fires in Clermont County today, including one we just cleared. If you are burning, please know the laws and do it responsibly. The vegetation is still dry, dead, and embers will spread quickly. Great job by our crew today! Also, a great job by Pierce Township Police Departments own Officer Weitzel using a neighbor’s garden hose to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby shed.

At approximately 0300 this morning, we were dispatched for an automatic crash notification on State Route 749. Upon arrival crews discovered a 1 vehicle accident, on its side about 12 feet down in the creek and in water. Crews quickly made it to the vehicle and determined the patient was trapped. Additional crews and a helicopter were requested. The patient was extricated and brought to the roadway utilizing a rope system. The patient was then transported to a waiting helicopter for transport to University hospital. Thanks to Central joint fire and EMS District,New Richmond fire and EMS, Pierce Township Police and Ohio Highway Patrol for their assistance.
