Your Norwood Professional Firefighters are proud to announce the addition of 35 new MSA G1 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units, complete with spare battery packs and new masks for all of the firefighters, to our department. This important investment was made possible through the support of our city administration, and we extend our sincere thanks for their commitment to firefighter safety and community protection.
The new SCBAs were placed in service for the first time this morning and replace our previous set of MSA SCBAs that were in service for close to 15 years. The MSA G1 SCBAs provide enhanced technology and ergonomics, including integrated Bluetooth communication systems, which will improve coordination and efficiency during emergency operations. These upgrades ensure your firefighters have the most reliable and advanced equipment available as we continue our mission to safeguard the lives and property of those we serve.
