A Message from the Founder

Dear Friends, Founders, Supporters, Volunteers, Donors, and Followers of Heritage Acres,

For a decade now (did you know that we incorporated way back in 2016?), Heritage Acres has been my heart and my soul, my purpose and my passion. For many years before that, it was my *dream* -- one that only became a reality thanks to countless volunteers and donors and a truly amazing, one-of-a-kind staff. It has been among the greatest blessings of my life to bring the vision of green burial in Cincinnati to fruition, to the point that Heritage Acres is now recognized as one of the premier natural burial grounds in America.

But those of us who work closely with the cycle of life and death know full well that time marches on. Nothing is constant, except change and evolution. So it is that my time as the Cemetery Director at Heritage Acres is coming to a close. I will be retiring from the Heritage Acres staff on June 30. After that date, I will continue to work closely with the staff, the board, and the Heritage Acres family as a consultant and spokesperson. I will do everything I can to keep my commitment to those individuals and families who are counting on my participation in their burials and final wishes. And I will look forward to many opportunities, in the years ahead, for staying in touch, chatting, reminiscing, and continuing to dream together about the future of our beloved sanctuary, and our beloved planet.

In the remaining weeks before my retirement, I will be dedicating my time and energy to helping create a smooth transition so that Heritage Acres can move forward into that shared future.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your involvement, support, and vision of what Heritage Acres could and can continue to become!

Always Imagine,
Bill Gupton
