Mack Fire Incorporated is a local civic organization of current and past members of Green Township Fire & EMS and its precursor Mack Volunteer Fire Department. Every year they donate money and equipment to support the Fire Department and safety in Green Township. It is funded through an annual raffle. The 2026 drawing was recently held.
Here's the video of the annual Mack Fire Incorporated raffle drawing. If you purchased the chances, maybe you won! We very much appreciated the ongoing support of MFI. We don't know yet how much money the raffle generated this year, but we're told it was more than the previous year. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort. It really does benefit the Fire Department and the public.

At 09:18 today units from Green Township Fire & EMS were dispatched to the 6700 block of Harrison Avenue for a fire alarm activation. While responding, units were advised that the whole apartment building was full of smoke, so the incident was upgraded to a building fire response. Engine 53 arrived, located a working fire in a second floor apartment and performed an aggressive interior attack, declaring the fire under control at 09:33. Thanks to our mutual aid partners from Miami Township Fire & EMS, Cheviot Fire Department, Whitewater Township Fire Department, and Colerain Township Fire Department for the assistance. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters; however, one dog died as a result of the smoke from the fire. The cause is under investigation, but is not considered suspicious.

2026 is a banner year for Green Township Fire & EMS, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of paramedic-level service delivery to our residents and visitors. In 1976, the Mack Volunteer Fire Department provided fire and EMS coverage to Green Township, and were one of four Greater Cincinnati communities to begin to offer paramedic-level services. Recently, we commemorated the 50th anniversary at our annual retiree luncheon. These pictures show our 4 EMS Chiefs for the past 50 years, five of the members of the first paramedic class, and what EMS looked like in 1976. We are thankful for their contributions and leadership!

Please join us in thanking Firefighter-Paramedic Tom Benkert for his 23 years of service to Green Township. "Tommy" as he was affectionately known gained an interest in the fire service while working as an electrician during the remodeling of Station 107 in Covedale in 2000-2001. While Tommy's work is done here, you can still find him at the CVG Airport FD where he serves as a Captain. We'll miss you Tommy!

Community Risk Reduction is a major focus of our mission statement. Saturday's car seat event allowed us an opportunity to inspect or install dozens of car seats. If we missed you on Saturday, our residents are welcome to call 513-574-0474 to schedule an appointment. Please avoid walk-in requests, as we may not have a technician on duty.
