Pruning is not about making a tree smaller.
It’s about weight distribution and structural integrity.
Done correctly, it extends lifespans, promotes structural stability, and reduces hazardous overhead risk.
We see trees butchered by "tree guys" all the time. Your landscapers are not arborists.
Call the pros.

With spring storms on the way,
here is a quick test for storm risk:
Stand back and look at your tree’s canopy. If 60% of the weight leans over your house, you have risk exposure.
Trees rarely fail straight down.
They fail towards lean and weight.
If you're worried call us and we will come take a look.

This pine was a few good storms away from splitting onto the homeowner’s garage.
From the ground it looked “fine.” From the canopy, it was cracked 35% through the codominant union.

We wanted to take a moment to show off this beautiful anomaly of an American sycamore we found last spring while working on our employees’ hybrid tree identification at the Cincinnati Nature Center! How cool is this? We usually see unions moving the other way, don't we? This is a jaw dropping display of "partial inosculation" or (trunk fusion). The bark seam between them suggests the cambium likely pressed together and fused in sections over time. Absolutely magnificent.

We are excited for this new year ahead and the opportunity to continue saving, preserving, and learning.
