While bond funds cannot be used to pay teacher salaries, these investments can improve teachers' everyday working conditions, reduce disruptions to instruction, and help preserve operating resources for education rather than major building repairs and updates. ❤️ #

How do I know what bond funds will be used for?

1) Voters decide. Voters must approve the bond before the district can move forward. (Please vote YES on Measure 3-639).
2) Bond funds are legally restricted. NCSD MUST use bond money on the capital improvements authorized by voters. See images for what NCSD schools will get.
3) Multiple layers of oversight ensure accountability. Bond spending is subject to legal restrictions, independent financial audits, public reporting, and oversight by our elected school board as well as a bond oversight committee.

Bottom line: Bond funds are not a blank check. There are legal safeguards and public accountability measures to ensure voter-approved, taxpayer dollars are spent as intended.

One of the most impactful decisions on your ballot is the last box. Don't skip it. Vote YES and ensure our schools stay strong, safe, and usable for years to come. Oh, and having cooling systems in all schools is huge in helping support teaching and learning. Just sayin'
