🌡️ Another extremely hot day is expected in Cleveland, and the heat can quickly become dangerous for our pets. 🐾

Please bring your pets indoors whenever possible. Even with shade and water, the temperatures can become life-threatening. Make sure they have access to plenty of fresh water, a cool place to rest, and never leave them in a parked vehicle.

If you see a dog or other animal that appears to be in distress due to the heat, please call Cleveland Animal Care & Control at 216-664-3069

Let’s work together to keep our community’s pets safe during this heat wave. 🐾❤️

Pet Owners Beware...The summer heat can lead to paw burns in just 1 minute for a dog walking on pavement, and about 5 minutes on the sidewalk. Hydration is very important for pets and humans alike, but the hot surfaces are another concern. Meanwhile, shaded grass is cooler than the air temperature due to evapotranspiration. Tomorrow's full sunshine and a high of 99 can produce an asphalt temperature of 150 degrees or higher.
