Ohio congressmen take issue with U.S. Capitol metal detectors; supported them in schools - Ohio Capital Journal 01/15/2021

“Three Ohio congressmen have reportedly taken issue with new metal detectors installed outside the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, objecting to increased security measures put in place after insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol building just a week ago.

All three of them — Reps. Steve Stivers of Upper Arlington, Bob Gibbs of Lakeville and Bob Latta of Bowling Green — previously supported efforts to install metal detectors in school buildings as a method of preventing school violence."

Ohio Democratic Party chair David Pepper resigns after systemic disastrous results, up and down ballot – Ohio For All 12/23/2020

While these are bleak results under his tenure, a huge factor in these serious trends is the Redistricting in 2010 that led to severely gerrymandered congressional districts. The redistricting process itself was fraught with scandal, taking place behind closed doors and little public input or oversight.

Following the conclusion of the 2020 Census, the next redistricting will take place in the Summer of 2021.

Rep Jim Jordan to support Jan 6 Election Results challenge on floor of Congress – Ohio For All 12/23/2020

Jordan even went to Pennsylvania to rally for “Stop the Steal”, and backed the failed Texas lawsuit to have votes thrown out in key battleground states in an effort to overturn the election results. Over a dozen other Trump-backed lawsuits to overturn votes have also been tossed out.

As a last-ditch effort, Trump is hoping to stage a resistance on the floor of the House of Representatives on January 6th, before Congress certifies the results of the election. So far, no members of the Senate have stepped forward, and Mitch McConnell has warned that the effort may be counterproductive.

We Can Do Better. Do you believe we can??

"Only one country in the world has, in recent history:

+ endeavored to overthrow more than 50 foreign governments

+ established an intelligence agency that killed at least 6 million people in the first 40 years of its existence

+ developed a draconian police-vigilante network to destroy any domestic political movements that challenged its dominion

+ constructed a mass incarceration system that cages a greater percentage of the population than any other country in the world, and which is embedded within a global secret prison network and torture regime."

Fascism: Now You See It, Now You Don’t! - CounterPunch.org “We need to understand that, contrary to what we are told by the U.S. media, fascism is not an extreme development, limited in time and place, that occurred a long time ago. Quite the contrary. Fascism is extended, generalized, and exists everywhere.” – Vicente Navarro Only one country in the ...

At no time was there a majority of Democratic justices on the court.

Democrats Have Been a Minority on the Supreme Court Since 1970 - CounterPunch.org National polls have shown that most citizens do not wish her, or anyone, to be appointed until after the presidential election. A few Democrats have argued that if Barrett is appointed, seats should be added to the Supreme Court to balance its philosophical views. President Donald Trump and Vice Pre...
