Archiving tip: Proper historic preservation requires photographing all transparencies against the most fun backgrounds possible.
(Transparencies are of Wade Lagoon, the home of the "old boathouse" where the Cleveland Garden Center spent its first few decades.)

Today our Librarian Gary Esmonde and the Holden Arboretum Librarian Catherine Wells presented to public librarians on ways that our libraries can serve their patrons. Highlights include lending through public libraries (Arboretum) and helping with botanical reference questions (both). Thanks to Northeast Ohio Regional Library System (NEO-RLS) for hosting.
Do you have ideas for how the Squire Library could better serve the Cleveland community? Let us know in the comments!

Exciting news! The Library staff and volunteers have started the process of organizing the Botanical Garden's archives. Among the treasures unearthed so far is this photo of Eleanor Squire herself (upper left) from a Cleveland News article about the French Street Fair.
Stay tuned for more fun updates from the Cleveland Botanical Garden's long history as a institution.
