Last night, Sunday, August 25th was an exciting one for the Saint Benedict Joseph Labre Ministry to the Homeless because of the generosity of the Joseph Family. The Joseph Family Kitchen in Gibbons Hall was made possible through the generous support of the Joseph Family and will be the primary headquarters for the Labre Ministry. Before, the Labre food preparations were done in the school's kitchen, but now the Labre Ministry has its own kitchen for storage and preparation. To commemorate its first usage, Fr. Murphy presided for an opening Mass, followed by a special blessing of every part of the kitchen, led by Fr. Murphy, president, and principal, Mr. Dan Bradesca '88. The Joseph Family has been active in and supportive of the Labre Ministry for many years, often preparing meals to be taken out and serving in a variety of capacities. Mrs. Valerie Joseph also serves as a driver for the Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry for which her sons served as pallbearers. Many thanks to the Joseph Family for their continued support and involvement, not to mention their positive, joyful presence and belief in the Christian service initiatives at Saint Ignatius High School. There will, no doubt be a ripple effect of blessings which has already begun to touch students, the homeless, and friends of Labre. The Joseph family consists of: Mr. and Mrs. Lou and Valerie Joseph, Matthew Joseph '09, David Joseph '11, and Garrett Joseph '13.
