There is a new online self-help center for Family Law cases that was launched by Lorain County. If you are pursuing your case on your own without an attorney, this may be a great resource. Even if your case is not there, they may have some helpful information if the County your case is in does not have a similar resource in person or online.

The CMBA Calls on the Ohio Supreme Court and the National Conference of Bar Examiners to Modify Bar Admission Questions to Protect Survivors of Abuse and Assault 05/27/2025

Excellent work from the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Their request is to exempt victims of crimes from the requirement that bar applicants list all legal actions in which they were involved.

Specifically, the CMBA requests the following exemption be added to the application to protect applicants:

“If your involvement in any inquiry, investigation, civil or administrative action or legal proceeding was solely as the victim of a crime; or if you are or have been the plaintiff or petitioner in seeking a protective or restraining order for alleged threats, violence or abuse; or if you initiated any proceeding under Title IX, then you are not required to disclose that information (on this application).”
