ABOUT JOHN KASHWICK

John Kashwick brings decades of professional and municipal experience to his work on the Clinton Town Council.

Now retired, John spent 21 years at The New York Times working in financial planning and analysis. His background in budgeting and long-term financial planning shapes his approach to local government and his focus on responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

John was first elected to the Clinton Town Council in 2022 and is now completing his second term. As Chair of Clinton’s Environmental Commission and Green Team, he has helped bring grant funding into Clinton for pollinator gardens, tree planting, community energy planning, and riverbank restoration. He also led the effort to establish Clinton’s Open Space Trust Fund, overwhelmingly approved by voters, and has supported major investments to protect the quality of Clinton’s drinking water.

Before moving to Clinton, John served nine years on the Closter Borough Council, where his responsibilities included finance and human resources and where he gained significant experience in historic preservation. He brings that experience to his work in Clinton, combining responsible financial management with a commitment to protecting the historic character and small-town feel of our community.

John is running for reelection to the Town Council alongside Councilwoman Kim Stentz.

ABOUT KIM STENTZ

For Kim Stentz, Clinton isn’t just the town she serves—it’s been home for 30 years.

Kim and her husband raised their four children here, and she has been involved in the community in many ways over the years. She volunteered with the PTO and Booster Club at Clinton Public School and served as a Girl Scout leader. A pharmacist who continues to work part-time, Kim brings years of professional experience and a practical, thoughtful approach to her work on Council.

Since joining the Clinton Town Council in 2024, Kim has worked to improve our parks and playgrounds, invest in the infrastructure our town depends on, support sustainability efforts, and keep a close eye on spending.

As Council liaison to the Shade Tree Commission, Kim helped secure a $32,000 grant to plant trees throughout Clinton—bringing outside funding into our community while helping keep Clinton green and beautiful.

After raising her family here and spending years involved in the community, Kim knows what makes Clinton special. She cares deeply about preserving our small-town character and strong sense of community, while making sure we continue to invest wisely in Clinton’s future.

Kim is running for reelection to the Town Council alongside Councilman John Kashwick.
